What’s in My Makeup Bag

When it comes to doing my makeup, I love to keep it simple. I prefer the “no makeup” look on the days I decide to wear it. However, I love a glam beat on special occasions. My bag has a mix of drugstore and name brands that get the job done.

Makeup Brushes

When I don’t put my brushes in the container, I keep them in the inside pocket of my bag. This 12-piece gradient set is from Lades Makeup and can be purchased here. It’s perfect for beginners!

Eyeshadow Palette

For a while, I didn’t know how to apply eyeshadow. However, with the wonderful help of my sisters and YouTube beauty gurus, I’ve been getting the hang of it. Practice makes perfect and my go-to palette has been The Nomad palette by Juvia’s Place. I think it has beautiful neutral colors. It’s also small and doesn’t take up space in my bag.

Foundation

I used to hate foundation because of the cakey-look it would give off. A few years ago, I discovered BLK/OPL, a light-weight foundation perfect for black women. Mine is in the color truly topaz. I love how it has a stick applicator and it doesn’t even look like I have it on after applying it.

Concealer

I use Ruby Kisses HD Concealer in the color cool tan. Application is simple and it’s been doing my brows justice when it comes to giving them definition.

Mascara

Maybelline’s  Great Lash hasn’t failed me yet. It gives my lashes the perfect volume and brings them to life.

Lipstick

Right now, I have two shades of Maybelline Lipstick in my bag (Plum-for-me and Red-for-me). Each color is appropriate for day or night occasions.

Eyelash Glue

I have black DUO brush-on adhesive lash glue in my bag. I like the applicator the most because it makes putting my false lashes on simple.

Liquid Eyeliner

Liquid liner is my go-to because what’s a face-beat without a winged-liner? Right now, I’m using Maybelline’s Tattoo Studio liquid ink eyeliner in the color black.

Makeup Bag Essentials

Listed below are things that are always in my bag. Some of these are self explainable as to why. Clear lip gloss is just a nice aesthetic for the “no-makeup” look.

  • Brown eyebrow pencil
  • Black eyeliner pencil
  • Beauty Blender
  • Tweezers
  • Clear lip gloss

I hope you enjoyed the things in my makeup bag. Many of these items can be purchased at your local beauty supply store.
