Styling my edges aka “baby hairs” takes my natural hairstyles to the next level. As a black woman, styling your edges enhances your hairstyle and frames your face. It isn’t a requirement but I highly recommend it. It’s simple and it only takes a few minutes.
Here is what you’ll need:
- Rat-tail comb
- Gel or Edge Control
- Spray Bottle
- Toothbrush
- Headscarf
Step 1. Separate your edges
Separate your baby hairs from the rest of your hair with a comb. Pull them to the front and use the comb to guide where you want your baby hairs to fall.
Step 2. Spray them with water
Lightly spray your baby hairs with water in the spray bottle. This just makes them easier to manage.
Step 3. Add Gel or Edge Control
Add a small amount of gel or edge control to the toothbrush and create a swoop affect. You can shape them to your liking. Also, use your finger as an extra guide to shape.
Step 4. Secure your look with a headscarf
Secure your look by placing a headscarf on for 5-10min. This will make sure your baby hairs are laid sis!
That’s it, that’s how I style my edges! Subscribe to my blog and follow me on TikTok @lilole_maia for more beauty/fashion tips.
