On November 8 2021, R&B star H.E.R launched web series ‘Behind The Curtain’ on Facebook Watch. The series allows fans to take a deeper dive into her creative process and how she prepares for live performances.

In Episode 1, we follow H.E.R while she prepares for two sold-out shows at Hollywood Bowl. This was her first performance in one year, since the COVID-19 pandemic. She is eager to be able to take the stage after so long. “I’ve been dying to get out on stage and it’s been such a long time coming like I’m just ready” she said.

While rehearsing in Los Angeles, she expresses joy and excitement to her team “Real quick before we start um, I just want to express my excitement. It’s getting real now, we in LA now ain’t no turning back,” she said.

H.E.R’s determination to make sure the Hollywood Bowl audience is entertained is highlighted throughout the episode. Her team also gives their perspective on how she can spice things up. “Like whatever we decide to use, if it’s from volume 1 or volume 2 or whatever, what does it accomplish that we need to accomplish,” said her musical director, Alonzo Harris.

H.E.R is expecting a huge turnout at the Hollywood Bowl selling 34,000 tickets. “That’s the equivalent of two staples centers,” said her manager and chairman of MBK entertainment, Jeff Robinson. “That means it’s people who are just as you know, just curious because they seen a lot of the TV stuff and some of your hardcore fans. So you have to be diverse in what you’re putting out there.”

Hours before the performance, H.E.R decides to wear mix-match socks for good luck. She is excited yet anxious to finally step foot on stage and make magic happen. “But no, I just, I feel more ready than anything, like anxious. I just want to get it done like, there’s nothing I want to do more right now than just perform,” she said

The audience lit up the Hollywood Bowl, an engagement proposal took place, and H.E.R’s team came out on stage to congratulate her for a successful performance. The young, beautiful, and soulful artist expressed how grateful she is for her team. She wrapped up by saying “You guys make this experience so much more fun. Um you know. Yeah. Thank you, I love you.” Keep up with H.E.R by tuning into new episodes of “Behind the Curtain” every Monday.
